Lioness

She is Clothed in Strength & Dignity

A lioness spirit is endearing, bold and renewed in its confidence and worthiness. These film photos were taken by me in Brooklyn, New York- one woman representing the mind and the other the body, uniquely coming together again. The photos were taken as the first of my series Lioness seeking to capture survivors of domestic violence and the beauty of their voice.

These photos signify the birthing of courage, strength and wisdom when we choose to heal what is wounded and separated within us. The transformation of rediscovering our souls beauty. It is reflective in my own journey as a survivor and an advocate. The gravened ways of thinking that I could only live in my pain and in a silent suffering of my past. Now knowing that I can come out of my cocoon to fly out my own healing as well as encourage others.

Lioness will be launched as both an ongoing series and nonprofit organization, providing access to quality styled clothing for women in shelters for job interviews, professional attire and to bring forth their inner confidence.

How
The mind
& the body
Come back
Together Again”
