Gen Z Toxicity [a series of unresolved issues]
“…Is a gender-fluid collection with a focus on my cultural background, heritage, personal feelings, and art appreciation. The main inspiration and primary research come from my family's past during the communist period in Romania, compared to today's generation and society”

Black Women’s Beauty is Pain and Patriarchal Capitalism is the Perpetrator
“Every woman has heard some variation of “beauty is pain.” Beauty is often linked with physical and mental pain and the idea that we must suffer for beauty…”

Took my Mother’s Tongue and My Father’s Religion
My last name is also foreign to Americans and constantly questioned about where it comes from and how it is pronounced. Growing up I had to hide different aspects of my identity from people. To my peers back home in New York, a very pro-Israel city I had to hide the fact that on my father's side I am Muslim.

Humane Slaughter
Using a combination of materials such as latex, silicone, ink, corn syrup and glass wax I created this realistic and educational experience. I used a one-way system for this installation as I intend for the audience to experience some sort of transformation as they walk through. It also mimics the process of an animal being killed, there is no turning back or escaping. It is only one way.

Fashion Textile Designer Joseph Bradshaw
“…I’m never 100% satisfied with my work, as I said before I’m a perfectionist, I have to forcibly stop myself from tweaking and changing my garments till they look how I envisioned them, it’s very much a blessing and a curse…”

Tereza Kocholata: No More Walls
“…I mainly worked with a handy cam in order to add a sense of intimacy to my project. The low quality footage stands in as a metaphor for how I look at my past, being less about the perfect shot and more about the atmospherical affect it has on me…”
-
Harry Carter: Unface
“…Today this roadway though has become an extensive network of superhighways: our faces curated, formulated, and rendered at once through a hyper-image flow. Unface questions the implications of such a network.
Should we return to the old roadway? In the information age, perhaps it is privacy, and the right to be unseen, that’s more essential to sustaining intimacy and connection…”

Elly Mckerrow: Growing up was like peeling off my skin
“…The tapestry intends to feel like a mash up of conflicting feelings, representing the contrasting thoughts inside somebody’s brain.
You can see sentences being scribbled out, reversed and repeated over and over again in an attempt to represent guilt, denial and overwhelm. The words sit amongst illustrations of a fairy-like playful world, representing the innocence of my younger self.

Graduate Fashion Week: Arty Keeler: 'Welcome to The Artyverse'
“…The Artyverse is the fictional universe I have been developing through my artwork since I was a child, which consists of ethereally glamourous aliens with a deep running Sci-Fi mythology told through each piece. This was my way of escaping the reality of growing up as a queer individual.
I wanted to create a safe space for other people with this collection so I thought about where I, and many other queer people, have felt the most alienated growing up and that would be in sports…”
-
Graduate Fashion Week: Erika Roznyte
“…Through my work, I strive to ignite conversations and evoke emotions, driven by a passion for the transformative capabilities of textiles, and the deep enjoyment of research and experimentation.
As a designer, I enjoy the art of problem-solving, which challenges my current way of thinking and allows for creative opportunities through a tactile and experimental approach…”

Whether Every Tree's Birthday Falls In the Spring
Geyujing Shen was born in a small city in Zhejiang, China, where the subtropical climate has brought evergreen tree species everywhere, bringing economic benefits and maintaining the local ecology, but people are mostly oblivious to their presence - just as women are experiencing in China, and with the status of queer, the way trees are treated deepens Geyujing's anxiety about identity, presence, and visibility.

5 Things I wish I knew… Before Leaving University
“…This is not me saying that you must be one of those people that wakes up at 5am and has a 20 step morning routine doing yoga at sunrise. (as much as I dream that could be me, I know I could never). It can be simple, like waking up at the same time every morning, going for a walk in the day..” By Original Magazine Intern - Natasha Lee
