Saul Nash
Juxtaposition
AW23

Words By: Rosa Yates

Dressed in all the gear, but no idea! Saul Nash’s AW23 collection, titled, Juxtaposition, puts activewear for the snowy slopes with London streetwear.

The runway was decorated with a background of pristine mountain peaks and piles of black sand. Cold air and smoke filled the Old Selfridges Hotel as models shivered down the runway, pretending to warm themselves as they walked down the urban ski slope.

Away from the more traditional streetwear silhouettes, the cuts are slimmer and more fitted. Knitwear contours the body in designs fit for the street put practical for winter in the city.

Breaking into dance models animated the variety of tracksuits, sweatsuits and puffer jackets in cool blues and icy greens. Highlighting the performance and practicality of the fabrics and features: including zip-off sleeves, technical bonded outerwear, and compression knits.

The streetwear-esque collection is a delicate balance of softness and activity - with ribbed elbows and carefully placed panelling moving as one with the dancers.
